On Thursday June 14th all the pupils in the pupils in the school completed the RUN A MILE WITH A SMILE activity. in the weeks leading up to the run all the classes trained by running in the yard a few times a week. The active schools committee measured the perimeter of the tennis court using a trundle wheel. 1 lap measured 80 m and 1 mile = approx 1.6 km . We needed to run 50 laps of the tennis court to run a mile. We organised the run so it was done as relay between all the classes. To celebrate the start of the World Cup on the same day 1st to 6th class made flags of the countries participating in the World Cup and we used Ms Andersons special Golden Boot Trophy in place of a baton to pass from class to class. It was a very enjoyable run !
